One year on: Why I’m extending my online programme
January 2025 marks a year since we launched the online learning programme designed to transform how sales and market access teams engage with the NHS.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve seen first-hand the challenges our clients face and worked together to overcome them. Along the way, we’ve not only delivered results but also gained fresh insights into what works – and what doesn’t – in this ever-changing landscape.
Now, it’s time to take things a step further. Based on everything we’ve learnt; I’m expanding the programme with new modules designed to tackle some of the biggest obstacles head-on.
These aren’t just tweaks. They’re carefully crafted additions to help you pick your way through the complexities of NHS decision-making and come out ahead.

What sales and market access teams are up against
Selling to the NHS has always been challenging but today’s pressures take it to a new level. Decision-makers are stretched thin, budgets are tighter than ever and the demands for efficiency keep growing.
Getting their attention – and keeping it – requires more than just a good product.
The reality is that the NHS doesn’t want to hear about your product. What they care about is solving problems. Long waiting lists, staffing pressures, spiralling costs – these are the issues that keep them up at night. If you’re not addressing those concerns directly, you’re wasting their time. And yours.
I help my clients cut through this noise, securing 53 NHS projects in 2023 alone. But with the NHS landscape shifting, staying ahead means adapting and that’s where the new modules come in.
Sell more effectively to the NHS. New modules – what they cover and why they matter
Each new module is built around the realities of NHS priorities and the opportunities they create for pharma, med tech and device companies.
Here’s what I’ve introduced for 2025:
- Hospital working beyond clinical leads
Far too often, projects falter because they stop at the clinical lead. This module goes deeper, showing you how to work effectively with hospital management teams to ensure your project gets implemented. You’ll also learn how to navigate block contracts and tariff systems, knowledge that’s essential for making your project stick.
Why it matters: Aligning clinical and managerial priorities ensures your project isn’t just approved but actively supported.
- Decoding public policy reports
Recent reports such as Lord Darzi’s NHS Investigation and the IPPR Commission on Health and Prosperity’s Final Report are shaping the future of healthcare. This module breaks down their key messages – prevention-focused care, digital health and cross-sector collaboration – and what they mean for your strategy.
Why it matters: By aligning your projects with these priorities, you position yourself as part of the solution the NHS is looking for.
- Operational planning guidance
Each year, the NHS releases operational and financial planning guidance that sets the tone for priorities across the system. This module will help you digest and apply the updates as soon as they’re available.
Why it matters: Anticipating NHS needs allows you to tailor your approach and stand out from the competition.
- Building advocacy and case studies
Advocacy can be a game-changer. This module focuses on helping you create case studies and reference sites that build credibility and open doors to new opportunities.
Why it matters: NHS decision-makers trust the word of their peers. The stronger your advocates, the easier your job becomes.
- Navigating the ‘left shift’ in care
The NHS is pushing care into primary and community settings to reduce hospital pressures. This module dives into how your products and services can align with these changes, from preventative care to AI-driven diagnostics.
Why it matters: Positioning yourself in these emerging areas ensures you’re part of the NHS’s future, not just its present.
Why this matters for you
These new modules aren’t just about adding content, they’re about giving you an edge. The programme is grounded in real-world success, not theory. Every module, tool and resource has been tested and proven through my work helping clients secure lucrative NHS projects.
By the end of the programme, you won’t just understand how the NHS works, you’ll have the skills and confidence to navigate it effectively, pitch with authority and build lasting partnerships. You will also have had access to my NHS client base, and we will have worked to secure projects with those clients.
