Service Provision (pathway redesign) 

The pathway redesign specifications, covered within a business case for commissioning a service, and / or services, will provide opportunities for those who have companies for service provision. In working this way all services provided will be sustainable; Consortia are therefore building a solid company founded on the long term strategy rather than a short term gain which may not last.

The business plan for service provision takes a section of the business case for commissioning the pathway and develops a proposal for providing this element of the pathway. Once again, Scott McKenzie Consultancy has many examples we are more than happy to share.

Working in partnership with the PCT at every level is key; both the PCT and the Consortium need each other. We need to try to find a constructive way forward for both parties which delivers tangible outcomes; this is vital for the consortium if they are to earn autonomy from the PCT over time.

Early failures could be fatal hence the tiered approach where we move forward together all working at the same pace. The governance, along with the plans you develop, coupled with strong engagement at Practice level, will ensure you achieve the desired and required outcomes.

The work is designed to avoid simply ticking boxes for PBC; it is focused at driving meaningful outcomes using all the levers and incentives available via PBC. It is a tiered approach which over a period of time will deliver success for Consortia, and PCTs; ultimately, if desired, it will allow Consortia to earn greater autonomy from the PCT
