Non-profit organisation wins GP contracts
16-Apr-09
A non-profit organisation has won two contracts to provide new GP services in Manchester.
Go To Doc Ltd won two separate tenders to run a 8,500-patient GP-led health centre in the city centre and a new 6,000 patient practice for the under-doctored Moston area.
The company currently provides out-of-hours care in several PCTs across the North West.
The results of two other tenders to run new GP practices in Manchester will be announced in the coming months, according to NHS Manchester.
At least 70 PCTs have signed contracts with providers for GP-led health centres. Private companies have won just 30% of contracts, with the majority awarded to GP-led groups.
