New Premises

In order to be in a position to take advantage of the many new opportunities available with the NHS today Practices are starting to review the suitability of their existing premises for the services they currently offer as well as those they would like to offer.

As part of this process Scott McKenzie Services are in a position to offer expert support to any Practice considering Premises development; this includes writing a proposal from you to the PCT.

Within the proposal, the key questions we research and develop answers for, and which any proposal will be required to contain, are;

 Why you believe you require new premisesWhat will you be delivering, over and above what you offer now, if you are successful with you proposalWhat do you want to use the building for, outside of GMS; in other words do you have   plans to include other services Premises not fit for purpose; a gap analysis of where you believe the issues lie; this is   the key part of the submission which can often make or break your proposal (this is an area we support using one of our bid / tender consultants)Enthusiasm and commitment to making this happen; who will lead on this and plans;   experience shows you have to have one person who is responsible for driving the whole project forwardPatient consultation (strategy for)

Answers to these questions will provide a good platform to develop a business case from; however, additionally, we also look to use;

 Any feedback they have from the PCTCopy of the PCT estate strategy

Both of these provide us the opportunity to build your business case around the PCT agenda locally.

At the same time we can support you with;

 The initial approaches to your local planning department – local bye laws/conservation orders/preservation ordersArchitects – to take forward your thoughts/ideas/dreams and turn them into real plans Solicitors – experts in Medical projects to protect you through the whole processDevelopers – whether you want to lease/own or rent your premises Finance – we can arrange up to 100% with a major High Street Bank – interest only or capital and interestMedical equipment/fixtures and fittings – with a smart new building you won’t want to have old kit
