5 Key Steps to Success with Practice Based Commissioning
1. Governance Arrangements
We believe the key for any group lies in producing strong governance which holds people/practices accountable and provides a framework to which they can all adhere. All Practices wishing to join your group should sign the Governance document and agree to be bound by it.

2. Clinical Engagement
In order to drive clinical outcomes you need input from the clinicians' right from the start; we can show you how this is easily achievable.
3. Realistic Expectations
Walk before you run; there are 3 levels Practices can engage at, but before any Practice or Group can get to level 2 they have to complete level 1. A staged approach will get everyone performing and the outcomes flowing; we work with you to develop your own local plans through data analysis tied to available skill set.
4. Accountability
Explaining “what practices are expected to achieve” in being members of the Commissioning group is essential to drive and maintain engagement. This can be in the form of what they expect to see in return for the LES payment, or in the form of a commissioning plan.
5. All Member Practices
Working at a level which suits them within the Commissioning Agenda
This is really quite simple when they have strong engagement at practice level backed up with strong Governance Arrangements and processes which allow the Commissioning Group to function .
